← Learn the IceClinics & Camps
Concentrated blocks — great for immersion, not a substitute for weekly reps.
What it is
Multi-day (camps) or single-session (clinics) programs, often around school vacations and summer. Range from town-run fun camps to national operators and specialty clinics (defense, shooting, goalie, girls-only).
Who it's for
Depends entirely on the camp — read the level and age band carefully. A vacation-week town camp and a AAA exposure camp are different products wearing the same word.
Instruction
Usually a mix: skating and skills blocks, games, sometimes off-ice. Quality tracks the ratio and the actual coaching staff (ask who's on the ice, not whose name is on the flyer).
Equipment
Full equipment. Multi-day camps: sharpen skates first, label everything, pack backup laces.
Access & cost
Public registration for most; some are tryout/invite-based. Summer camps fill by spring for popular operators.
Confirm before you go
- Real daily schedule — how much ice time vs. off-ice filler
- Who actually coaches (staff list, not headliner)
- Refund policy and what happens if your child is overmatched or bored
🔥 Flame guide: Flame varies 1–4 by camp; our listings state it per program. One great camp week ≠ a season of weekly skating.
