Get more ice time cheaply
More touches beat more games, and the cheapest touches are walk-on ice. Public skating and stick and puck cost a fraction of any program and are where lessons become instincts. This is the layer most families underuse, mostly because the schedules are scattered. That is the problem this site exists to fix.
What actually works
- •Public skating is for everyone and is the best companion to Learn to Skate.
- •Stick and puck needs independent skating and usually full gear for kids. Check each listing's rules.
- •A parent on the ice doubles the value for young kids. Many sessions allow it; the card says so.
- •Go weekly. The gain is in the repetition, not any single visit.
